SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT PLAN- 2025

 

It is the policy of Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait to operate its business as a corporate citizen committed to effective environmental management and with concern for the well-being of our common environment. Our goal is to ensure that company facilities and operations are in compliance with environmental standards. We believe that an appropriate balance can and should be achieved between environmental goals and economic health. We intend to be a leader in responsible environmental management.

1. Environmental Sustainability

By nature, the hospitality industry is a large consumer of resources. Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait aims to reduce and optimize its consumption through the use of basic measures, such as energy efficient lighting, water consumption reduction and a better management of waste and chemical use.

Symphony Style Hotel’s key environmental objectives are to:

  • Train and educate all its employees to develop awareness and understanding of key environmental issued and share best practices throughout the company based on the globally recognized “Four System Conditions” framework (introduced by The Natural Step). This framework provides guidelines to companies and individuals on how to live in a sustainable way without damaging nature and life-supporting natural structures and functions.
  • Apply environmental awareness to its purchasing practices. The focus is to reduce the company’s carbon emissions by favoring local suppliers requiring minimum transportation. In parallel, Symphony Style Hotel will combine waste management and purchasing practices, by selecting suppliers who offer reduced packaging options.
  • Stop the use of harmful non-biodegradable chemicals and instead substitute these with environmentally friendly alternatives. The use of environmentally friendly, biodegradable alternatives also helps create safer environments for Symphony Style Hotel employees, guests and the local communities.
  • Measure target and monitor progress as part of quarterly reporting at a hotel level.
  • Reduce and replace its energy consumption. Reduce technical and behavioral improvements and replace fossil energy sources with renewable ones.
  • Contribute to water efficiency by introduction of intelligent saving and usage.
  • Turn waste from a cost to a valuable resource through efficient and improved waste management.
  • Establish and adapt practices to protect endangered species and sea life.
  • Introduce a system for sustainable construction practices for all new builds and refurbishment projects.

2. Employer Sustainability

Sustainability as an employer means achieving excellence in human resources and leadership practices while embracing and celebrating diversity. Through the application of the values quality, trust and care, Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait is committed to foster a culture that consstently improves employee engagement, development, wellbeing, safety and security.

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait’s key employer objectives are to:

Contribute to the education of local communities by actively working to hire and train local people for positions at all levels.

Take measures to guarantee fairness and transparency with regards to compensation and benefits.

Enable people with physical or other limitations to become part of the work place.

3. Social Sustainability

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait commitment goes beyond environmental and employer sustainability to also encompass social sustainability.

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait’s key social objectives are to:

             Positively contribute to the communities in State of Kuwait in a way that is mutually benficial and sustainable.

Share best practice and to work hand in hand with local and global partners.

Encourage and actively promote a philosophy of volunteerism and enable practicing of it.

4. Quality

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait is committed to ensure that the highest standard of goods and services are catered to our customers. We make sure we comply with high standard quality by regular checks and upgrade. We avail the quality audits such as WE CARE and other programs AlTijaria customer digital card as well as complying with internal and external quality audits to be in line with this aim. We promote with truthfulness.

5. Health and Safety

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait has been continously committed to do business which guarantees health, hygiene and safety programs to cater goods and services which are clean, safe, healthy and beneficial to our guests while ensuring compliance with sustainability. This is enhanced with the awarding of HACCP Certificate.
